January- I took a trip to Bryce Canyon with the Curriden
family. It was absolutely beautiful and I had a wonderful time. Look at the
view!
February- Valentine’s Day. Natalie and I got flowers and
they were beautiful! To top things off, I watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
with some WONDERFUL guys! How is one girl so lucky? (Natalie, can you believe that this is the only picture of us on Facebook?! We should take normal pictures some day (aka pictures not associated with Mr. Winkle).)
March- Saw the Hunger Games at Midnight, went to the Festival
of Colors, saw Unicorn City (all with Rusty), and Kat came home! Hunger Games
was better than I had hoped and we even stayed awake on the ride home (thanks
to Rusty’s boundless conversation)! The Festival of Colors- we met some
uninterested llamas, threw some colors, and eventually managed to find the car.
As for Unicorn City- I have never laughed so much in my life. If you
haven’t seen it, you should. Last but
not least- Kat came home!! Does she have to be so amazing?! She served a
faithful mission in the Philippines. I couldn’t be happier that she is back
in the US!
April- Michael’s Birthday- sadly, he would not eat an entire
cake by himself at the Chocolate. However, he was a good sport and allowed those present to explain a favorite memory they had with Michael. It was beautiful to see just how much of a difference this
wonderful brother of mine has made. Love you, Michael!
April also brought Dani Strong's baby shower! So happy for you beautiful friend- you're a wonderful person, wife, and mother. Finally, I graduated from BYU! Elder Oaks gave the
commencement speech, which felt appropriate as I would start law school in the
fall.
May-August= Worked at Pioneer Grove with the best people and
helped the best kids. I’ll be forever grateful for the children’s examples of
goodness and strength. Rachel Ashby came home from her mission in Russia. I couldn't be happier to have her back! Also, Dani Norton
Cox’s wedding. Beautiful woman, beautiful day. (The picture is of her younger
sister Jessi and me at her reception).
August- Started law school! Although the days are difficult
and long, I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
September- . . . (For those who haven’t gone to law school,
let’s just say those periods represent lots and LOTS of reading).
October- a wonderful birthday came on the 30th. I got to celebrate my birthday with my parents for the first time in 5 years! Can you believe it? It has been too long. Also, Brad spoiled my family with tickets to the Notre Dame v. BYU game. Great game (even though we lost and were squished in because of the guys from Jersey)!
November- a fun trip to the E.R. Long story short, I had a
Snow White moment, which caused severe chest pains instead of dreamless sleep. If
given the choice, I would have picked the latter. Although it was worth the
trauma to hear the events that went on that night. Don’t worry folks, I’m doing
just fine. The next day was Thanksgiving! The Guymon/Norton clan expanded this
year to include a husband and new puppy. Love you all. A few days later we dragged Michael to "Singing in the Rain," which was wonderful!
December- First semester finals. The Guymon family spent a
wonderful Christmas with trips to the Music Box Theatre, the Garfield
Conservatory, and North Side bakeries. The best part, however, was skyping with Elder John Guymon. Also, Andrea came home from her mission in Hong Kong just before Christmas. Can't wait to talk to her. And who could forget New Year’s Eve? None
of us will ever think of Elton John the same way again . . .
